NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE TOP 10

Here are my must have picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I'll explain later because I'm running late to work... haha!

This morning I had an unplanned early wake up that lead to a little too much extra time before work to peruse the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The next thing I knew I had 30 minutes to shower and leave so thank you for waiting it out for me to finish this post :)

My game plan for the sale was to shop online and pick up in-store, so I knew the items I wanted most were reserved for me in the store before I drove 30 minutes to my nearest Nordstrom. Normally, I got for new boots and a few little things here and there, but this year I wanted to focus on really good basics that I will get regular wear out of, like basic tops, a good pair of jeans, and comfy layers for work and the weekend.

#1: Halogen Long Open Front Cardigan | #2: BP Lightweight Rib Stitch Cardigan | #4: Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Lite® Circle Cardigan

I'm always cold at work year round, so I knew picking up a few different cardigans would be a good investment to my wardrobe and out of all the options  I ended up with these three. A must have for me this year is finally trying the Barefoot Dreams Circle Cardigan that always sells out while I contemplate the price tag, so this year there was was no hesitation other than deciding the color.

#3: Halogen Soft Ruffle Jacket

This isn't a piece that I normally go for but I was intrigued by the design and color and wanted to reserve it to try on. I'll let y'all know what I think of it when I get it.

#5 Halogen Button Back Ruffle Hem Dress

My current comfy LBP is in serious need of tossing and this one with the ruffle detail will be the perfect replacement! Drop ruffle details can be a hit or miss with my hips, so I hope it fits! I can picture so many different outfits around the dress, so I'm excited to style it.

#6 Madewell Catskills Jacket

I wasn't expecting to get a new olive green coat because I have one but I've never been happy with how it fit on me, so I'm hoping this one is a more flattering cut and I wear it more because I think they are a fall staple.

#7: Emerson Rose Tie Cuff Blouse

 I love the little bow tie sleeve detail on this otherwise boring plain white top (even though I can never have too many of boring white tops for work!).

#8: Barefoot Dreams Cozy Chic Robe

Another Barefoot Dreams item I regretted not picking up last year. It's actually been in my cart ever since but I didn't want to pay full price when I knew the sale price in the back of my head! I don't neeeeeeed a new robe, but since I live in my $12 Tuesday Morning robe I thought I wanted to treat myself to this one.

#9 AG The Legging Raw Hem Ankle Skinny Jeans

The holy grail AG jeans... These are always one of the first things to sell out, so this year I wanted to see what all the fuss is about with these! I would never pay full price for them, and even the sale price is a little hard to swallow, but I'll let y'all know if they're worth it after I get to try them on. I ordered two sizes to be safe since I'm not familiar with how they fit.

#10 Lush Raw Edge Side Slit Tee

Out of everything in my closet I get the most wear out of my basic tees, so I wanted to pick up a few of these to try at under $16. They look thicker than most I've seen, and I'm hoping that's a good thing! They will work perfectly under all the jackets and cardigans I ordered.

I wasn't very tempted in the beauty department because most of the options we're large gift sets and unless I knew it was a product I already love I didn't want to spend more to get more. I did purchase this set because I love the scent of the deodorant and it lasts me forever. I think I buy like 2 a year somehow, it's crazy.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Haul and Styled Looks

I've done a post on what I ordered from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but today I wanted to style them for you and let y'all know what's going back and what you can still grab on sale before they go up to full price August 8th!

Top . Jeans . Boots 

My favorite purchase from the sale would definitely be these boots, which is funny because when I shopped online and in store the first time I looked right past them. I went to the store a second time with Tim and wanted to try on some over the knee boots, because they look so cute on everyone. I also decided to try on this pair because the color caught my eye. They're a great mix between a taupe and gray so you can wear them with blacks or browns (but who says you can't mix them anyway... not me!). 

I tried the above pair on first and fell in love with how comfortable they were, but I still wanted to give the over the knee boots a try. I don't know why but I always feel like I look like a pirate when I wear them, so they were a no-go and these came home with me.  I always get a half size up in boots to wear thicker socks and to just make it easier to slip them off and on..although I still have Tim pull them off for me when he's around ;)

Scarf . Top . Jeans . Shoes (limited sizes in this color at the moment)

I ordered last years version of this tunic because I wanted more length in the front (both are the same price on sale). This scarf also wasn't apart of the NSale, but it's been sitting in my cart for months so I decided to send it my way. I like the length of it because you can wear it around your neck without having to do anything fancy with it (see picture below).

Tim gifted me this watch when we celebrated our one year dating anniversary, and I wear it just as much now as I did two years ago. I love how simple the face is, as well as how flat and light weight it is against my wrist. This one in the sale is very similar, but has a touch of rose gold! Also, this leopard scarf was sent to me in error so I styled it here and sent it back to Nordstrom because I already have one just like it!

Now for these flats and this cardigan.. I think they're the two purchases I'm returning. First, the shoes.. I've been loving the lace up flat trend, however the pointed toe just isn't for me. I feel like my feet look huge with them on, just me?? I will say they looked cuter after pairing them with full looks verse when I first tried them on in workout clothes. They aren't as high maintenance to get in and out of as I expected. 

As for the sweater, I thought this whole time I was going to exchange it for an XS, but when I checked again it turns out this is an xs! It definitely runs large, and I'm still torn on keeping it because I like the color but I'm not sure it's doing it for me other than that.

Of course... I do like the way the shoes look here #indecisive. This tunic was in the sale last year and I wanted to get one because it's not chiffon like most of the tunics I own. It definitely runs large, so if you're between sizes order down. I'll probably exchange it for an XS and it will still be a little oversized like I like them to be.

I purchased a regular black pair of leggings because you can never have enough, along with this pair of fun tights that I love way more than I expected to. Usually I don't care for patterned tights once I try them on, but these are somehow just as flattering as the black pair and I love the colors! You can size down in the zella leggings if you want a little more "suck it in" action from them.

You guys, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the sale I've been saving my Christmas gift cards for. Yes, it's that good, because fall fashion is the best fashion. However on Thursday after three hours in the store, I wasn't able to checkout because the gift card system was down.  I ended up ordering most of what I wanted online, and I thought I would  leave my feedback on what I can from my in-store shopping so it's not a complete waste! I also ordered this tunic ($27 on sale but not anniversary) and this scarf that have been sitting in my cart forever. I tried on this years version in the sale but preferred the older style because it's longer.

I wish this scarf was a little bit longer, but it's still enough to style it wrapped around your neck. 

 I love this bag! It's definitely a popular item from the sale (marked down $80) and it's currently on back order until 8/4.

 I didn't find the correct size for this flannel so I can't speak on fit, but I love it as a layering piece under sweaters. I couldn't find this sweater online anywhere :( If you know what it is let me know!

 The coziest cashmere sweater. The fit is oversized but I like it that way, so size up/down depending on how you want it to fit! These Paige jeans are very stretchy so I would recommend sizing down. I'm usually a 28 and I'm wearing a 27 in this picture.

 

I skipped out on this skirt because I can't wear it to work, but if you can it's a great length and very figure flattering (I like that it stretches to accommodate the booty). I'm wearing a size 2 and it's hard to see the lace detail in this photo. I paired it with this top, but it will go with almost anything in your closet! 

Some items are showing up as sold out, but every year Nordstrom will restock them periodically and save stock for when the sale goes live to the public, so don't worry!

 It's Friday night and I'm still shopping through the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.. obsessed would be an understatement. I'm so anxious for leggings, booties, and fur vests... but I have a few beach trips and vacations I'm looking forward to first! Side note- I only have a week left of school, then I can finally enjoy a little summer break :) 

Now that the sale is open to everyone, I thought it would be helpful to share my favorites because the most popular items are already selling out! I think everyone needs to stock up on these tunics, because they're long enough to wear with leggings and the perfect under layer to any vest or coat you add. I usually don't gravitate towards black in my wardrobe, so I'm a big fan of all the gray pieces, especially this bag (heart emoji x 3)!  A good fur vest (the kind that won't shed on everything you own) will usually cost a good chunk of change, so here's your chance to snag a quality one on sale. I love the lighter color of this one because it will really pop over your darker layers. Summer Maxi Dress

 I purchased this dress a few months ago for a June wedding. As soon as I saw it in store I knew it was perfect for the occasion, but also any summer event that popped up in the future. I love the bright punchy colors. I love wearing maxi dresses during the warmer months because they're so easy, however sometimes the lower body can get hot under the long material. That's definitely not in this case with this dress because the tulip design keeps you nice and breezy.  I also love this dress in the light blue, total mermaid status with some waves in your hair.

Friday Favorites: Nordstrom Sale

It's time to shop for your Fall must haves because the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally here for early access card holders! This is the sale of all sales, because everything included is NEW and upcoming for the next season. You can actually wear your purchases throughout the entire season instead of shopping the rejects at the end and hoping it's still in style or fits next year. The good stuff always sells out, so if you're not already a card holder you can sign up here to shop it early. If you're not comfortable opening/using a credit card you can opt for Nordstrom debit instead, which is what I did. This way any purchase comes directly from my bank account while still getting all the perks. I found the best place to start in the sale was looking under the outfit tab. If I liked an overall look I could click and shop every piece in the outfit on the same page. I featured my favorites above!

Olive this vest

That can probably go down in history as the cheesiest title ever on SCxo, but it is what it is... There's so many ways to style an olive vest during the fall season, and this look is one of my favorites for everyday wear. You can throw it over dresses, sweaters, and stripe/flannel/solid tops for an effortless layered look. And don't act surprised that I paired it with leopard flats. These are still in the breaking- in stage, but I'd say they are well worth the blister on my heel.
