Gift Ideas for the Jet Setter

A quick little Sunday post to get the week started! Whether your friend travels for work or play, they will certainly appreciate today's gift guide. These gifts are perfect for your jet-setting friend who could use some little luxuries to make her packing and traveling easier.

How adorable is that Ted Baker suitcase?! They make the most feminine and unique suit cases that would be so easy to spot on the conveyor belt. I also have heard great things about the Barrington totes and I love that you can completely customize them! It would be a cute gift for the bride to be, with her new monogram. 

I love little organization bags to go inside my suitcase, especially when it comes to undergarmnets. Anyone else paranoid TSA will reveal your hanky pankies going through security? They make organizing your dirty laundry on the way back easier, too. I also like to put my shoes inside bags because #germs

 I have some Reva flats that I've had for years that still destroy my achilles by the end of the day 😢 The Tory Burch Minnie flats are the complete opposite and are way more comfortable. The leather is so soft and stretchy, I can even fit into the floor size comfortably! These will fold up into your carry on nicely, so if you need to switch into heels when you get off the plane for work then these are the perfect solution to travel comfortably!

Of course, you can use the hotel blow dryer, but having your own with bumped up quality is definitely the way to go if you're a frequent flyer. I love this set because it comes with a mini straightener, so if you're pinched for those last few pounds in your suitcase you can use a straighter as a curling iron as well! Just Maui'd

In Maui we basically soaked up all the down time and food we could before it was back to the real world. Our favorite place to eat on the trip would definitely be Mama's Fish House. It's a splurgy meal, but everything we had from the service to dessert was on point. It can be a little tricky to get there if you don't have a car, so I would recommend to schedule out an Uber for 2 hours after your reservation. We wined and dinned longer there than I would have expected, plus you want to check out the property before the sun goes down too!

If you're staying on Wailea Beach, I recommend to rent snorkeling gear and swim along the lava rocks in between the two beaches. There are sea turtles everywhere! Unless you really want to spend $80 I would pass on the "guaranteed sea turtles" paddle boarding/snorkeling tour. We went snorkeling at about 9:30 and saw plenty!

Of course where there's shopping at the front of your hotel, you have to check out the shops too! I ended up splurging on a new cross body bag I've had my eye on because it was 25% cheaper than back at home plus the tax is a little less too #justified. Like I need another brown cross body, but my mom has been using mine for the last year so it's basically hers now ;)

Unfortunately the breakfast at our resort wasn't comparable to the two previous resort stays, so both mornings afterward we walked to Longhis which had a cute vibe and yummy brunch selection. Eat all the pineapple you can on the islands, and just know the food is going to be more expensive than you're used to!

This romper is a great price right now, and if you have a warmer fall climate you can pair it with booties and call it a day. I would recommend sizing up if you can go between sizes, it's a little short for my comfort zone. Also, how cute is Tim in his little sea turtle shirt we got from Tory Richard?! I guess there are a few positives to delayed baggage ;)

Honeymoonin'

This week I'm sharing a few outfits from our honeymoon in Hawaii along with a few of our favorite spots on each island! Also, I may have jumped the gun about sharing wedding photos over on Instagram.. oops! I'm considering submitting them for publication, so I can't share them until I work out those details! I was so excited our photographer got them to us in 6 days that I just wanted to share! I'll post them as soon as I can though, along with a few of my planning tips and tricks :) 

These images were from our second night in Kauai. It was definitely the island we needed after visiting Honolulu, because it was a pretty stressful start to the honeymoon. Delta struggled to get our luggage to us, so after visiting Pearl Harbor in the morning we spent most of the day looking for clothing and necessities so we could freshen up for our first date night without wearing the same clothes we traveled in...plus this blondie needed some mascara! 

Earlier this morning, we actually did a "doors off" Jack Harter helicopter tour of the island, which I would highly recommend IF you don't get motion sick like I do, or just medicate prior ;) Everyone I spoke to about Kauai recommended it, so I wasn't really thinking much about the actual flight when we booked it...I was sick for the majority of it! Luckily, they had bags...Anyway, it was either a helicopter or a boat to see the Napali coast. Because of all the waterfalls on the island, I would definitely lean more towards the helicopter. 

Tim set up dinner for us at Dukes which I remember him talking about when we first started dating because they have his favorite dessert - Hula Pie! It was a casual beach vibe, like most of the places you'll find in Hawaii. It was great to walk from our Marriott resort to the restaurants we ate at since we didn't rent a car, although I would probably recommend one for at least a day to explore the island and watch the sunset over on the west side of the island. 

I found this skirt at a My Fiore Boutique while trying to find another white dress for wedding events and they were having BOGO FREE on their summer items. I guess when you go somewhere tropical in October you score all your clothes on sale! You can't see the shoes I wore because I didn't like the photos we took before getting on the sand, but I still linked them above! Tim bought them for me since I didn't have my luggage and I didn't want to rock my Keds to dinner ;) They were actually cheaper on the island than they would have been at home, plus the tax is a little lower too! #balleronabudget 

Happy Halloween by the way! What are you dressing up as?! I have nothing planned so far, but since work approved dressing up I may just wear workout clothes and call myself a crossfitter ;)
