July Favorites

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9

Already time for another favorites, I'm sad to see July go. Before we know it, it will be scarf and boot season. However, it's finally August and I can start putting this gorgeous Kate Spade planner to productive use!

The coconut oil and lip scrub have gotten my lips in lipstick shape finally. I've been loving this combination for my lips, but I've also been using the coconut oil as my nightly moisturizer after the shower. It soaks in fast and I feel like it's done wonders for my skin. Another beauty combo I've been loving is this Dior primer and Too Faced mascara. I'm pretty picky when it comes to mascara, hating any signs of clumps, yet this combo achieved volume without any of that! Plus the primer is supposed to condition your lashes to help with growth, so any of that business is welcomed.

I featured this Banana Boat self tanner in my Beach post (if you missed it click here). It's jumped in front of my beloved St. Tropez as my go to tanner. It's a fourth of the price The color is just as natural once you wash off the excess in the shower, and it lasts SO much longer!

What have been your summer favorites?

Favorite Lipsticks

Creme Cup - Myth - Chanel Evasion - NARS Cruising - Beach Bound

Lazy Day -  Angel - Viva Glam Gaga - Pretty Please

NARS Cruising

Jazzed - Gotta Dash - Chanel Pygmalion - Impassioned - Viva Glam Cindi

Happy National Lipstick Day. In true blogger fashion, I thought today was the perfect time to share with you my favorite lipsticks. These are the colors I brought to Atlanta with me for summer, but I hope to get around to a full collection when I get back to Savannah. Now I have a love hate with lipsticks, that's for sure. I absolutely love shopping for lipstick, and I'm not exactly sure why because my lips are so dry that I tend to get the most use from chap stick and lip gloss. Sadly, most of these are limited edition, however you can find them at places like Cosmetic Company Outlets and online so I still thought I'd share. I plan to add a YSL into the mix as soon as I can pick out a color…it's been weeks of contemplating.. whats your favorite??

Favorite Bright: Chanel Pygmalion
Favorite Coral: Mac Jazzed
Favorite Pink: Mac Viva Glam Gaga & Lazy Day (because you can't have one pink)
Favorite Nude: NARS cruising (link)

Savannah Summers

Well hello there. It's been a long week, thats for sure. Last weekend I had a great time at Hilton Head beach with my friends in Savannah- I haven't seen them all summer! However, the rest of the week was filled with stress from case presentations, dropping and busting my iPhone, and moving to a new apartment in the Savannah heat. It's finally over and I can enjoy 3 weeks of summer back in Atlanta! I kicked it off with a O.A.R concert at Chastain Park, and I plan to be pool side all week long! Sorry no post last week, between the previously mentioned stress and having no cable/internet in our old apartment, posts just weren't an option. Back to normal now though, hope ya'll have a good week!

Beach Ready

I'm heading down to Savannah for the last week of summer semester, so a few trips to the beach are already worked into my schedule. I thought I would share some of the things I make sure to bring with me, besides all the obvious things (sunscreen, towel, water, snacks, chair, etc).

First things first, gotta tan. Here are some of the products I recommend to achieve that perfect tan. P.S: I highly recommend this Banana Boat tanner, the color lasts noticeably longer than the St. Tropez! Plus, its less than a third of the price. I find mine at Walmart.

Step 1: exfoliate // Step 2: moisturize the joints // Step 3: Apply Tanner  (splurge / save)

Here are the products I recommend to give you a natural beauty look that will last. No worries, this simple routine won't look ridiculous out on the beach. This is one of the only occasions when I avoid my beloved winged eyeliner. Also, make sure those toes are acceptable to be in out public. Mine are currently painted Essie Mint Candle Apple.

Brows // Face // Mascara // Eye Bright // Lips

Next, the products I like to bring along with me in my beach bag. A good lip balm with sun screen is a must- no one wants burnt lips. A good hat to protect your hair and face is what I recommend, but it could just be my strawberry blonde hair speaking. I bring along a wide tooth comb to keep my hair from getting too messy between the water and wind. A good facial mist is always welcomed along to refresh my skin throughout the day (pictured is a brand I've heard a lot about lately but haven't yet tried.. have you?). It's always a good idea to pack a spray (either perfume or body splash) because you can get sweaty (aka stinky) quick sitting out in the sun. Lastly, I prefer to wear sandals that are comfy and soft, but also in a lighter color so they don't attract as much heat. I always hate putting on burning sandals at the end of the day.

one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight

Finally, these are the products I don't need to bring in my beach bag, but I want them once I get home to rejuvenate my hair and skin from a day in the sun. I've been obsessed with coconut oil lately, and I've heard it also helps with sunburn (just in case) -more on how I use coconut oil later this month. It's important to bring along a deep conditioner, as well as a leave in product to help your hair recover. Apply a good eye cream and lip balm and you're set for healthy hydrated skin.

body // face // eyes // lips

I think that about rounds it up for beach necessities. Now to get that last workout it..

Kendra Scott GlamRocks

Two post in one day say whaa? Well when you have things like Tory Burch FitBits and a Kendra Scott launch, things like this happen. I've been waiting for this launch since my newest jewelry craze hit (see my recent post on my collection), and I'm glad it's finally here..although my wallet needs to catch up.

Here are my favorite pieces from the collection. I'm loving the layering pieces and arrows in this collection, but the rose gold earrings below are my favorite. What's your favorite piece? Shop the collection here

WOW: Tory Burch for FitBit

Ok folks, stop whatever it is you're doing and listen up. Tory Burch has teamed up with FitBit to deliver us the most stylish fitness gear you've ever seen. Now, you can continue tracking those steps without clashing with your date night dress. If you're into fitness tracking but want a more stylish option, here's the product for you! Most of the pieces sold out within 2 hours of the launch, but you can join the wait list at your local Tory Burch store.

If you're not familiar with FitBit, here's a description from their website:

"The Fitbit Flex tracks steps, distance and calories burned and shows you how you’re stacking up against your daily goals. At night, it tracks your sleep cycle, helps you learn how to sleep better and wakes you silently in the morning. Access your stats anytime on your computer, tablet, iPhone or Android."

I'm now quite sure how it "wakes you silently in the morning" but I'm willing to find out- on a non-important wake up day than is. Here is the selection. Note: the actual FitBit would need to be purchased separately.

Happy Hump Day,

Mini Jewelry Collection

Are you following me on instagram?? If not... rude. Change that here :)

I've been on a huge jewelry kick lately, which is weird for me because I normally stick with the same pieces (more on that later). It all started with Kendra Scott, then progressed after my visit to the ATL mart over the weekend. I used to work it every year, so it was nice to not use "bathroom breaks" to shop. Below are some new pieces I've picked up recently, as well as the collection I brought to Atlanta with me for the summer. Hope you enjoy.

The beautiful mess from not having my regular jewelry organization back in my room in Savannah..

This beaut arrived in the mail yesterday, just in time to include it in this post. It's an outfit maker, and I can't wait to style it!

Little layers: The top arrow and bottom cross are new editions from the ATL mart, however you can find similar options here,  here, or here.  I received the bow necklace from my Dad while we were vacationing in Cabo. It is definitely one of my most worn necklaces, I go days without taking it off. You can purchase it here

As you can tell my the picture, this leather bracelet has gotten some serious use. The rose gold bracelet is one of my all time favorites (link to the same version in silver); however, I've avoided wearing it lately due to the number of times I periodically lost it from it falling off my wrist (flash back to the time in the bar where a random guy and I tracked it down on the lovely bar floor). It is definitely by far one of the prettiest pieces I've owned, and I'll continue to deal with the occasional panic attacks from it falling off.

Here's a look at my most worn rings: The two bow rings in the back are from Kate Spade, with the rose gold found here, and the larger gold ring was from the outlets in Dawsonville a few years back. The red stone is my birthstone, given to me from my parents this past year for my 25th birthday. The rope ring is from an old set from Jewelmint (anyone remember that rage?). The Chevron ring is a midi ring, found in the BP section of Nordstrom (currently not online but similar here). The heart ring was given to me from my mother for my 21st birthday, and can still be purchased here. Lastly, the gold diamond ring was also a gift from my 21st birthday, passed down of my MawMaw- it was given to her from my PawPaw for their 40th wedding anniversary :)

This tray features my favorite types of pieces, chunky bracelets to intermix for that perfect arm candy. My absolute most worn piece is the Stella and Dot Renegade bracelet (spiky bracelet in the lower left corner), which sadly could use a replacement- it's beginning to turn due to all the wear it's gotten in the past year. I'm ordering the silver version as I type.. I know, I'm a great multitasker.
UPDATE: baking soda + water worked wonders on my renegade bracelet, as well as my silver tiffany jewelry… I should have cleaned them up before the post.. oh well they're clean(er) now!

The two turquoise colored bracelets were also Mart purchases, with the ball one being from a few years ago when I worked there. The silver one is definitely becoming a new favorite. I love how it fits next to my Kate Spade watch, adding a small pop of color but subtle enough to match anything (although what doesn't match with turquoise, especially in the summer??). You can see it live in action.. here. The chunky J. Crew bracelet definitely had it's moment in my collection, however I haven't been reaching for it lately because it feels heavy.

These teal Kendra Scott earrings (found here) broke my {at least} 3-year long stud streak. For the past few years I've developed a fear of ripping out my ear holes, so I've safety stuck with stud earrings (favorites up next). I'm surprised how comfortable there are to wear, especially for someone not used to wearing pieces like this.

My favorite earrings: The silver knot earrings were a gift for my college graduation (link). The Tory Burch studs were purchased with a birthday gift card courtesy of Tory herself (ok maybe not, but the company has sent me a gift card for the past two years, so same thing..?). The gold (rose gold looking in the picture) drop earrings are from Swarovski- link to different color. They are my go to when I'm dressing up.

Another recent purchase from Kendra Scott, the coveted Rayne Necklace. If you're interested in this color, I highly recommending picking it out in person if you can. I looked at probably 10 different necklaces before picking the one on display in the window. Every stone is different, as shown above with the front and back views. I wasn't a fan of the pieces they initially brought out... I was wanting to like both sides of the necklace; however, once they took this one out of display there was no hesitation that it was the one. I love how metallic the green, blue, and purple hues are.

Whew, well that's a peek into my jewelry collection! I might do another post down the road on my actual storage when I return to Savannah in August- we're moving to an apartment closer to school.

Thanks for reading,
