Birthday Wishlist

I can't believe my 25th birthday is this weekend! I've put together this little post to show you some of the things currently on my wish list.

PERFUME: I love starting off the New Year with a new scent because it's something to link your memories back to years down the road. I love this one from Dior.. but it's very likely due to the adorable bottle.. Link!

RAIN BOOTS: I've always wanted a pair of Hunter boots, but have never settled on a pair... until I found this color! This is actually a "big kids" size..but it fits my 7.5 size perfectly! Plus, its cheaper than the original, just a little bit shorter.  Link!

BLACK CROSS BODY: I've been on the hunt for the perfect black cross body for what feels like forever (Tim can vouch for this). I already have two mini mac bags, and I was trying to find something different...however I kept coming back to this one. I love the pop of gold on the black. The one pictured is black and rose gold... which is also beautiful! Here's where it's in stock.. link!

LASH SERUM: This is something I've always wanted to try, but have never wanted to spend the money on it. I mean, what girl doesn't want long thick lashes... especially when my blonde lashes can use all the help they can get. Link!

STEAMER: You were probably like... what the heck is that?! It's a steamer. I have a lot of tops that need to be dry cleaned and are too delicate to iron.. so this is the perfect answer to my problem! I want one that's small so it can travel with me when I go back and forth from school. Link!

HEART RING: I always like receiving jewelry on birthdays because it's something I always remember when I got it. I've been wanting this one ever since I saw Lauren Conrad had one back in her Hill days (so basically forever). And now that they have a rose gold option.. it's the perfect time to get one! Link!

NAIL POLISH: This little set from Deborah Lippmann is the perfect little accessory to start the year off. Not only is the sparkly polish called Happy Birthday.. but the purple is perfect to start off the year of Radiant Orchid...Pantone's color of the year. Stay tuned for a post on it..coming soon! Link!

POLKA DOT SHOES: OK... these are just adorable.. no explanation needed :) Link!

WALLET: So the last full size wallet I got is one from Juicy Couture I received on my 20th birthday... I think it's time for an upgrade. I love the Beau bag in this color from Kate Spade; however, it's way too big and bulky for my liking. I thought getting the wallet would be the next best option... right?! Link!

I'll be doing a birthday post late next week after celebrating with some out of town friends! So stay tuned :)

I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!

My Christmas Story

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their friends and family! I certainly did... It was my first Christmas with Tim. Heres a peek into my Christmas.

Christmas Eve: We went to church with his family (we took up a whole row). During the service, they made it snow in the building! Here in Georgia, I've only experienced one white Christmas before... and that was the first time in 100 years! After the service, we headed back to my house for our traditional family eve dinner (complete with my favorite mac and cheese!) then watched A Christmas Story by the fire.

Here's my outfit for the service.
Shirt: Francescas Collection
Skirt: J. Crew
Jacket: Express
Shoes: Tory Burch
Clutch: Coach

Christmas morning I woke up and had breakfast with my family and we exchanged gifts. Laila and I got in a little cuddle session by the fire :)

In the afternoon, I went over to Tims' to have dinner with his family. I enjoyed being in comfy clothes all day and spending time with everyone. Tomorrow I'm heading down south to visit my dads' side of the family.. I'm already looking forward to the food!

Twas the Week Before Christmas

My Christmas break seems to be flying by (NOOO). Like it's already Christmas Eve Squared..wow. Last week I got to meet up with a few of my cousins who were in town from Savannah and Colorado. We went on a private ghost tour in historic Roswell because of a connection through my moms art gallery. It was fun to hear the stories and see the pretty houses on the square. Here are a few pics!

The rest of the weekend was spent finishing up my Christmas shopping and spending Sunday with Tim at our usual hot spots.. church, J. Christophers, and Phipps Plaza for some sushi at Twist. We had a lot of fun looking around Lenox and Phipps at all the designer shops, adding to my forever growing wish list ;) And if you live in Georgia, can I get an AMEN the rain is finally gone!

A chrome Bentley.. because why not

I mean... Valentino and an adorable diamond bow.. I'll take it!

Here's one of my looks from this weekend.

I hope everyone has a merry and safe Christmas!

Winter Essentials

Happy first day of winter!  Check out some of my winter must haves for this upcoming season.

1. Peacoat- I love the classic look of this peacoat with the pop of pink color. Winter can be boring with all the neutral color tones people tend to wear, however with this coat you're sure to stand out! You can find this one (here) and make sure to use to GIFTNOW code for 30% off.

2. Leather Leggings- This was a big trend last winter that still stands in this upcoming season. Wearing leggings other than the typical flat black will add dimension to your outfits. This pair was from H&M (here) and is very friendly to your wallet. One thing I would watch out for when shopping for a pair is the quality when you stretch them out- I found a lot of the more affordable brands would flake.

3. Cute socks- I always like to wear a pair of tall socks under my boots in the colder months to keep my toes extra warm. Instead of wearing a plain pair, I of course prefer to have the cutest of socks in my drawers.  Find this pair here

4. Knee high boots- Shoes are my weakness, especially when it comes to winter because most of the time my cute outfit is bundled up and covered under my jacket. I love this pair because you can dress them up or down if you keep them shiny with leather protector. Find this pair here.

5. Layering Sweater- I picked this one from ILY couture (here) because it's as cute as it is comfortable. These are great layering pieces to throw over a chambray or tartan shirt.

6. Printed Scarf- This is a given. I couldn't have a winter, fall, or even spring essentials post without including one. This is my favorite fashion accessory (and has been for quite some time!). I picked this one from Stella & Dot (here) because it's a great pop of color as well as a girly twist to the typical animal print- they're hearts!

7. Lip Balm- I don't even want to count how many lip balms I own, but it's definitely important to make sure you have at least one during the cold months. I hate having chapped lips (who doesn't actually) and this one from Burts Bees will insure you don't! Get it at most drugstores or online (here).

8. Glittens- Ha, get it..this is a mix between a mitten and a glove. I prefer these because I can use my iPhone without taking them off..most of the tech gloves I find are very traditional and not my style. These from Kate Spade are adorable! Find them here

9. Highlighter- In the colder months, it's easy for your skin to look dull. By applying a highlighter to the high points of your face, you will create a healthy glow (and who doesn't want that!?). This one from Benefit (here) has been a staple in my makeup collection for years. I prefer a liquid highlighter in the winter because its more hydrating than a powder formulation.

10. Moisturizer- Staying on the topic of hydration, I bought this Josie Maron argon oil over a year ago, and my skin has never been the same! I used to have that really cute flaky nose thing going on, but not after using this stuff! Plus, it's still not even half way through the bottle because you only use 2-4 drops for your face (i use less in the morning and more before bed). Find it here.

Let me know what some of your favorite winter items are!

Lower Body WOD

Cheers to my first fitness post. Now as a disclaimer (you have to do it these days), I am in no way a health/fitness expert. I have my bachelors degree in Exercise and Health Science and I am currently in Physical Therapy school, so with that being said I have picked up (a few) things about health and fitness. However, everyone is different when it comes to what works for them, and you'll get the most results after some trial and error. You should always consult with your doctor before starting an exercise program!

Now with that being said.. Here is my WOD (workout of the day).

I started my day off with Vinyasa flow yoga. Since I'm home for Christmas break, I want to take full advantage of my month membership at Lifetime Fitness by taking yoga as much as I can. I want to recover and gain some flexibility along the way. I feel so much better after a hot yoga session! After yoga (which doubled as my core training as well) I worked on my lower body. Here's what I did!

Single leg deadlifts on the smith machine (4 sets of 8)
Super set with in and out squats holding a weight (I did 15)
Leg press- Wide leg stance and toes out to target the booty (4 sets of 8-10)
Walking lunges with dumbbells (3 sets of 10)
Leg extensions (3 sets of 10)
super set with jump squats (again, I did 15)

*Now don't be scared to hit the weights ladies. I too feared that weights would make me "bigger". However, women don't have the hormone levels (testosterone) needed to get big like guys do. Building muscle helps your body burn more calories throughout the day, because more muscle = more mitochondria (which is the power house of the cell!). Anyways, if your goal is to get fit, you need to incorporate resistance training into your routine. My favorite way to kill two birds with one stone (I actually hate that phrase but it works..) is HIIT training. That is, high intensity interval training. Lift those weights while super setting them to keep the heart rate up!

I could honestly keep writing and writing... but I'll leave it for future blog posts! If you have any questions feel free to reach out and ask!

Happy training,
-Amanda

Weekend in Review

The second to last weekend until Christmas. Its hard to believe! Here's what I was up to.

FRIDAY: The little brother had a school dance. I have to say he does dress up nice! Tim and I went downtown for some shopping and grabbed a bite at Tin Lizzy's.

SATURDAY: I spend the day with my Mom shopping for all the boys (almost done!) That night, the bestie had her annual tacky Christmas sweater party. I always take any opportunity  to wear a tutu, and this party was no exception!

SUNDAY: Sunday's with Tim is what I look forward to every week. We always start the day off with church, then grab some brunch at J Christopher's (eggs benedict please!) This time however, he had to head to work after church. I went to Target (because no weekend is complete without it) in hopes to find this shirt...it was sold out. An online order is soon in my future!

Currently wearing (photo alive):
Bottom: JCrew pixie pants (I found them at the outlet for 40$)
Boots: Coach
Scarf: Jcrew
Watch: Coach
Bracelet: Stella&Dot (favorite)
Phone Case: Lilly Pulitzer (of course the card slot case in this print is out now)
